Trying to use your gamew save. the game recogonizes the file and tries to load it but says file is corrupted. I am using a 2010 PC DVD to play the game published by capcom. Any help would be appreciated.

The game’s saves are encrypted to the user; thus, you need the PROFILE to match the saver files. If only the save (that goes in Documents) is proffered, it’s likely useless unless you have the same profile (say, from a cracked version of the game).
PS: This is the “Player 1” profile that keeps getting re-uploaded around the Internet. Be aware that THE SAME PROFILES CANNOT BE USED TO PLAY CO-OP — it “connection error” drops when trying to join a game, when using the same profiles (it does not tell you WHAT the error is; but, trial and error arrives at the profile issue).
So, for co-op play, one needs TWO, DIFFERENT PROFILES ⚠️
